THE LEGENDARY human
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Everyone's heard about the "mythical" human: standing erect on two legs with minimal fur on their bodies, hair perched atop their heads, two eyes and arms and legs, as well as many other parts. They are survivors - they adapt to the situation. If another Ice Age threatened the world, Lord knows they'd make it through, scathed and shattered with still in existence. However, humans can certainly be greedy creatures, not to mention too emotional. They are prone to violence, moreso than any animal, and their technology only inspires worse consequences.
Fortunately, though, humans are simple. They are mundane. Their only weapons are what they can create with their hands. They have no magic, no fangs or superspeed. Their skin is weak, their bodies fragile. Any Monster could take on these weaklings.

THE CURSED werewolf
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Therianthropes, also known as wereanimals and beastmen, are most often humans with the ability to transform into animals. There are four known reasons for this peculiar transformation: a human has demon blood running through their veins, they were placed under a curse, their mother or father is a therianthrope, or they were bitten by another were. A certain phase of the moon, usually the full moon or new moon, will force humans into their fur and, in some cases, throw them into a state of bloodlust. Therianthropy can also affect species other than humans.
The curse of therianthropy affects no two people in exactly the same way. For some, the bestial part of them is always fighting their human half for domination; for others, they suffer no internal strife. When in their animal form, a therianthrope might lose control, while another will be perfectly content. Superspeed and inhuman strength are common, yet others find their senses dulled.
The most notable case of therianthropy is Wickle Warrio, who claims to have morphed into a different animal every time he underwent the transformation. Whether or not this is true is a heated debate among therianthropes.
In general, therianthropes are proud and one of the most affectionate Monster species. Where other races despise humans, these unlucky fellas long to rejoin the ranks of the mundane and discard their fur for good. However, no cure has been known to actually cure them.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
THEIR unique ABILITIES
HUMAN FORM Generally that of the normal human, since most are human in origin. Occasionally, their hair and eyes may change to reflect their inner beast.
MONSTER FORM That of an animal, typically larger than usual or even anthropomorphic. Fur and eye colorations vary from the norm on occasion, sometimes resulting in bright pink hair and violet eyes. These colors are always reflected in their human form and is known to override their original hair and eye color.
FIVE SENSES Usually heightened
PHYSICAL STRENGTH Usually heightened
SPEED Usually heightened
STRENGTHS & WEAKNESSES Silver jewelry causes rashes upon exposure to the skin and can inflict severe burns if left on for long enough. Silver that touches open wounds will poison the therianthrope and, in the case of silver knives and bullets, can kill the victim. Therianthropes are usually stronger and energized under the light of the moon. Extreme emotion or intense situations can force a therianthrope into their bestial form.

THE SKILLED magic-users
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Some humans, however, are gifted with paranormal abilities that don't quite make them fall under the category of "monster". Rather, they are somewhat in between, capable of utilizing magic yet retaining their humanity to a certain extent.
Magic-users have been given a variety of titles over the centuries. Magicians are untrained magic-users, or those who can only do minor conjurations and hat tricks, while mages are fully trained and often belong to a specific order of magic-users. Wizards, on the other hand, are loners who have broken away from magic guilds. Witches are generally female magic-users, or -users or either sex that major in curses and charms. There is no precise name that fits every magic-user, other than, well, magic-user.
Magic-users inherit their abilities from Monster blood, usually a distant and almost-human ancestor. Fairies and pixies can commonly be traced in their family trees. However, the exact species of the source rarely has any effect on the resulting abilities. A magic-user with a great-great-great Siren grandmother might turn out to be a Necromancer, raising the dead, rather than seducing folk.

THEIR unique ABILITIES
HUMAN FORM Generally that of the normal human, but their distant Monster heritage may result in peculiar hair and eye color.
MONSTER FORM None.

FAMILIARS Most magic-users are linked to an animal known as a familiar. They are capable of telepathic communication and familiars often help magic-users keep their abilities under control.
STRENGTHS & WEAKNESSES A certain moon phase can cause magic-users to lose their abilities, or even strengthen them. Intense emotions make it more difficult to control their magic. Death of a familiar results in mental and/or physical agony, sometimes ending in the death of the magic-user as well. Neither being quite human or monster, magic-users are often outcasts among either group.
